Every Tuesday at 11:00 AM, Pastor James Allen teaches Faith in Action, a class built around one idea. Faith that never gets out of the seat is only half preached. The class exists to put people to work, not only to teach them something new.
The five-fold pattern
Pastor Allen teaches the class around five words. Equip means learning the word well enough to actually use it. Empower means depending on the Spirit rather than your own effort. Engage means showing up in the community rather than talking about showing up. Elevate means putting other people ahead of yourself, on purpose. Express means letting all of that show up wherever you go during the week, not only on a Sunday.
Why it matters here
This is the class behind a good part of what Rhema does outside its own walls. The food pantry runs on people who took the engage part of this teaching seriously, and so does Silver Sneakers. The class is where that habit of serving gets named and taught, rather than assumed.
