Since 2007

Rhema Word of Faith International

Building Lives. Changing Generations. Advancing the Kingdom.

A Christ-centered, Word-driven ministry located at the intersection of Reynolds Road and Skyview Drive in Lakeland, Florida, founded and led by Dr. H.B. Holmes.

Who We Are

Our Faith and Our Church

Dr. H.B. Holmes founded Rhema Word of Faith International in 2007. Everyone is welcome to worship with us, hear the Word of God, and grow in faith. Our faith is centered on Jesus Christ, and the Bible guides what we believe and how we live.

We teach the Bible in a way that applies beyond Sunday, bringing the Word into everyday life, from work and family to the challenges and responsibilities of the week.

Our mission rests on two things:

A Heart in Pursuit and the Great Commission.

Our Mission

This is our mission in our own words.

At Rhema Word of Faith International, our mission is to lead individuals into a transformative relationship with God through Jesus Christ. We are dedicated to practical, Bible-centered teaching that empowers everyone to cultivate daily communion and fellowship with God.

A Heart in Pursuit

We are committed to doing everything we can to bring people into a meaningful relationship with God through Jesus Christ. This includes practical teaching so that Christians know how to commune and fellowship with God on a daily basis.

Philippians 3:10 (KJV): "That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death;"

Great Commission

Jesus is the head of the Church, and we make up His Body. Through the Church (that's you), Jesus is revealed to those who are lost and without hope. We are called to reach out and rescue those who are held captive by sin.

Matthew 28:19 (KJV): "Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:"

You can read what we believe in full. It is eight short statements and it takes about two minutes.

Our History

2007: The Beginning

Rhema was founded in Lakeland, Florida, in 2007 under the leadership of Dr. H.B. Holmes. What began as a growing local ministry established the foundation for what Rhema would become.

2011: A Growing Vision

In 2011, the ministry became Rhema Word of Faith International, reflecting a vision that extended beyond the walls of one church and toward a broader reach.

Today: Expanding the Mission

Rhema continues to grow beyond the traditional church setting through worship, biblical teaching, prayer, community outreach and media. From weekly programming and a daily prayer call to community initiatives and live Sunday worship, the mission continues to reach people both inside and outside the church.

Dr. H.B. Holmes

Founder and Pastor

I am Dr. H.B. Holmes, founder and pastor of Rhema Word of Faith International. For more than 20 years, I have dedicated myself to teaching the Word of God and helping people develop a deeper understanding of how biblical truth applies to everyday life.

My vision for Rhema has always extended beyond the church. Through ministry, media, and innovation, we have created opportunities to share the Word and connect with people in new ways. This vision has led to the development of our broadcast studios, weekly programming, and Faith IQ, an interactive Bible trivia experience designed to make learning the Word engaging.

I am also the author of Executing God's Plan, a book centered on understanding God's purpose and putting His plan into action.

As Rhema continues to grow, my heart remains focused on building a Kingdom Family with a Kingdom purpose where you can learn and grow.

Whether you are visiting us for the first time or looking for a place to grow in your faith, I look forward to welcoming you to Rhema. It would be my privilege to meet you, serve you, and support you in your journey of faith.
